Notice privacy policy
Notice is a private perimenopause tracking app published by Waypoint Apps LLC (“we”, “us”). Something this personal should feel safe, so this page describes exactly what Notice does with your information, in plain language, based on what the app actually does.
The short version
- Notice is private. Everything you log is stored on your device and analyzed on your device.
- We never see your health information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no usage analytics or tracking, and no ads. Your health data never touches our servers.
- The only things Notice ever sends are anonymous crash and diagnostic reports, with no health data in them.
What Notice stores
Everything you log in Notice lives in a private database on your iPhone: your symptoms (headaches, hot flashes, and how severe they were), period entries, nightly sleep summaries, overnight glucose summaries if you connect a CGM (the raw readings stay in Apple Health), treatments and notes, your cycle settings, and your appointment prep answers.
The analysis happens on your device too. Notice finds patterns with its own on-device engine, and the short written summaries come from Apple’s on-device AI (the Foundation Models framework). If on-device AI is not available on your phone, Notice writes a plain summary itself, still on the device. Your health data is never sent to a remote AI service.
What leaves your phone
One category of information: anonymous crash and diagnostic reports.
To keep Notice stable, the app sends diagnostic reports to our error-monitoring provider, Sentry. There are two kinds. If Notice crashes or freezes, a report describes the technical details (the type of error, a stack trace, the app version, and anonymized device information) so we can fix it. And small anonymous pings report when a session starts and whether it ended normally, which is how we know what fraction of launches are healthy.
The pings carry a random code created when the app is installed, so repeat launches from the same install are counted once instead of looking like new users. The code is not tied to you, your Apple ID, or anything you log, and deleting the app deletes it.
Every report is scrubbed before it is sent: no health data, no symptom or cycle content, no notes, and nothing that identifies you. None of it is linked to your identity.
In Apple’s App Privacy terms, these reports fall under Diagnostics (crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data), collected for app functionality, not linked to you, and never used for tracking.
Apple Health
With your permission, Notice can read a few things from Apple Health: period entries, sleep, and glucose readings (for example, from a Dexcom sensor). This is read-only. Notice never writes to Apple Health, and it never sends your Health data anywhere.
Per Apple’s HealthKit rules, and our own, your Health data is never used for advertising and never shared. You can change or revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings, and Notice keeps working with whatever you choose to share.
Backups
Your Notice data is included in your own encrypted iCloud device backup, the standard backup Apple makes of your iPhone. This is deliberate: if you lose or replace your phone, your history comes back with it. The backup belongs to your Apple account and is under your control in iOS Settings. We have no access to it.
Doctor reports
The doctor report PDF is generated on your device. It is shared only when you choose to share it, and only where you choose: print it, save it, or send it. Nothing is shared automatically.
Subscriptions
Notice offers a paid tier called Notice Signature. If you subscribe, the payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your App Store subscription settings.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app from your phone deletes the data Notice stores on the device, including the random install code the crash reporter uses. Your own iCloud backup remains under your control in iOS Settings, where you can manage or delete it like any other backup.
Crash and diagnostic reports that were already sent are kept by our error-monitoring provider for a limited period (at most 90 days under Sentry’s standard retention) and then deleted automatically. Because these reports are not linked to your identity, we have no way to look up which ones came from you, which also means we cannot single them out for earlier deletion. They contain no health data and they expire on their own.
Children
Notice is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Not medical advice
Notice is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It helps you record and organize your own information so you can discuss it with your clinician.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Notice handles data, we will post the change on this page and update the effective date above.
